Novel Approaches to Develop and Manufacture „Difficult to Make Biologics“

The development and manufacturing of complex biologics – including the expression of some glycosylated proteins and cell therapies – remains one of the greatest challenges for the biotech and pharma industry. For such difficult to express biologics, new solutions based on novel technologies such as continuous and perfusion manufacturing, plant-based and cell-free systems or the use of in-silico design and AI for optimizing molecules, processes or patient stratification are required and emerging. The session explores the challenges, technologies, solutions, and opportunities in this rapidly evolving field.
