Innovation boost Made in Germany
The German Biotechnology Days (DBT) in Heidelberg are approaching and promise exciting insights into the future of biotechnology.
As part of the plenary session, Dr. Claudia Fleischer, Managing Director of Roche Diagnostics GmbH, will highlight the crucial role of the healthcare sector for both prosperity and economic growth in Germany in her keynote speech “Innovation Boost Made In Germany?” on April 10. In view of the current global challenges, this topic is becoming increasingly important from a socio-political perspective.
The innovative strength of the industrial healthcare sector today secures the prosperity and technological leadership of tomorrow: Roche alone has invested around 3.1 billion euros in its German sites in the last five years (2020 - 2024).
“[...] Our investments are not simply an end in themselves. It is important that medical and diagnostic solutions reach patients. To achieve this, we need the right framework conditions.” - Dr. Claudia Fleischer
In addition to investments in the infrastructure and production capacities of the German sites, the focus remains strongly on innovation, both in the pharmaceutical and diagnostics sectors. This momentum must be maintained in order to contribute to a strong biotech location in Germany in the future.
