National Biobank – a new platform for research success

Over the last months, the National Biobank Platform was co- developped with an integrated ´single-point-of-access´-concept. Formulated as a national goal in the coalition treaty, this close collaboration among existing biobanks will provide new chances for researchers. A consortium of academic experts and scientific organizations together with industry associations and companies co-developped the idea for this infrastructure and their operationalization.

The overarching goals are to attract more projects, offer highest quality standards for samples and data with state-of-the-art processes and a lean administrative workload. The expected „go live“ will be in July.
