VitrofluidiX

VitrofluidiX is an innovative biotechnology startup based in Cologne, founded in 2024. With VitroFlow, the company offers the first versatile organ-on-a-chip (OoC) platform that enables the realistic simulation of human organ functions—without additional devices. By integrating a newly developed circulation and incubation system, VitroFlow creates an organ-like environment for cells, where all required parameters are automated and reproducibly controlled within the device. It supports a wide range of chips from different manufacturers and enables live microscopy. VitroFlow facilitates the development of physiologically relevant in vitro OoC models, enabling realistic drug testing and disease modeling while significantly reducing the need for animal testing. Additionally, the cloud-based software tool VitroFlow.Connect provides live imaging and remote monitoring within the OoC system. Together, VitroFlow and VitroFlow.Connect form a user-friendly, adaptive platform, making it easily accessible for research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, and biomedical laboratories. Since 2024, initial pilot projects with university hospitals and research institutions have been underway to establish VitroFlow as a market-ready device.
