Technologiepark Heidelberg

The Heidelberg Technology Park is a pioneer in progress and innovation since 1984. With eight locations, 100,000 sqm of lab and office spaces and over 100 tenants in Heidelberg, the Technology Park has been a pivotal platform for transforming cutting-edge research from local universities and institutions into thriving commercial ventures. Catering primarily to sectors like Life Science, BioTech, IndustryTech, AI, and Data & Image Analysis, the Heidelberg Technology Park has become a fertile ground for startups, small and medium-sized enterprises and research spin-offs, fostering an environment of growth and discovery.

Space
The latest addition to the park, is the new building LAB22 which offers lab and office spaces for startups and SMEs, located at the Heidleberg Innovation park (hip). Opened in 2023, the building’s first tenant was the provider of lab and co-working spaces, BioLabs Heidelberg.

International Network
Heidelberg Technology Park has been the root of BioRN, the regional life science research and industry cluster. Additional memberships include the Association of University Research Parks (AURP), BIO Deutschland e.V., Biotechnology Innovation Organisation (BIO), KI Bundesverband, Bundesverband Deutscher Innovations-, Technologie- und Gründerzentren e.V. (BVIZ), and the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP). Active participation ensures optimal representation of tenants and members.

Startup Support
An interinstitutional startup support office, Heidelberg Startup Partners e.V., helps entrepreneurs with securing funding, finding partners, and building their companies. Events offer access to the startup scene.

Four accelerators (Life Science Accelerator BW, Up2B Accelerator, KI Garage, and KI LAB Heidelberg) provide startups in the fields of life sciences, IT, and AI with various forms of support such as seminars and mentoring, business modeling and product development, as well as the transformation of research into products.
