The attractiveness of the location is also reflected in the large companies that have settled here: The US pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly is investing 2.3 billion euros in a new production facility in Alzey with up to 1,000 jobs. Global companies Boehringer Ingelheim and BASF are also based in Rhineland-Palatinate and shape the economic strength of the region.
As a result of the close cooperation between business, science and politics, Rhineland-Palatinate offers excellent conditions for biotechnology start-ups, SMEs and international corporations, thereby sustainably strengthening its innovative capacity and competitiveness.
